Scientifically known as “Rubiaceae”, and globally known as Arabica Coffee, its beans are popular for their smoother, sweeter, and more nuanced, with notes of fruit, chocolate and caramel taste. It is grown in high altitude areas of between 1500m-2500m, in Uganda we locally call it “emwanyi za nasaland” loosely translated as “coffee grown on uplands”. Arabica coffee is specifically grown in the ranges of Mt Elgon (Eastern) & Mt Rwenzori (Western) of Uganda.
